The Barony of Ayreton is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) in the Greater Chicagoland area. The Society for Creative Anachronism is a 501c3 not-for-profit historic research and educational organization devoted to the study and re-creation of past people and cultures, concentrating on pre-seventeenth century history during the Medieval, Middle-Ages, and Renaissance periods, and to reproduce the skills and arts of this era. We are part of the Midlands region (Illinois) of the Middle Kingdom, also referred to as the Midrealm (Midrealm, the Great Lakes area of the Midwest of the United States including Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, part of Kentucky, a nip of Iowa, and a bit of Ontario).

There are five cantons that compose our barony. These include the Canton of Foxvale, the Canton of Vanished Wood, the Canton of Rokkehealden, the Canton of Tree-Girt-Sea and the Canton of Grey Gargoyles. Members of the populace are of course welcome and encouraged to associate with any and all groups they like.
